NATURAL GATEWAY TO THE NORTH

The Port of Saguenay acts as a direct link between Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and the world. Accessible year-round via the Saguenay River, the Port of Saguenay is located on a navigation corridor that is as safe as it is exceptional. It is the only navigable watercourse that allows the entry of transoceanic ships 100 km into Quebec territory from the St. Lawrence River. The only public port in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and an intermodal transport hub, it efficiently links the region and Northern Quebec to the main international markets.

Thanks to its deep-water port facilities in Grande-Anse, its direct access to the North American rail and road networks and its high energy capacity, the Port of Saguenay has become a highly strategic location for large-scale industrial projects. This regional desire has been transformed, through careful planning, into one of the largest industrial-port zone recognized by the Government of Quebec. The vast industrial land in the IP zone, adjacent to the Grande-Anse maritime terminal, offers impressive development potential.

A real space for innovation, the Port of Saguenay acts as an economic engine and allows companies to shine internationally by promoting trade. A recognized cruise port of call, it also helps to highlight the quality of the tourist offer in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and its legendary sense of hospitality. The Port of Saguenay team makes sure to continue the growth and development of this hub in a sustainable manner, while respecting its community.
